Gérard Bertrand is passionate about the Mediterranean Art de Vivre and is a specialist producer of premium wines from the south of France. In his Réserve Spéciale range he reveals the elegant, generous array of fruity flavours produced by the very best terroirs in the region.
The exceptional terroirs of the Languedoc enjoy optimum sunshine and low rainfall, bringing out all the complexity of the region’s emblematic grape varieties and thus producing top-quality wines.

|Vinification & Maturing||:||The grapes are picked at full ripeness. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out under temperature control with traditional maceration. After the malolactic fermentation the wine is matured partly in vats for 8 months in order to conserve the fruit, and partly in oak barrels. After a light fining operation the wine is aged for several months in bottles.|
|Tasting Note||:||The Merlot variety has a surprisingly deep and intense ruby colour. It produces silky, smooth wines and its spicy notes give them a Mediterranean feel. The colour is a dense, deep red. The bouquet reveals notes of red berries and a very slight hint of wood. This is a rounded, elegant wine that caresses the palate, offering notes of summer fruits, cherry and raspberry. It offers delicious aromas of ripe fruit which develop towards a long-lasting finish.|
